Publication Day (Finally!)

It's always an exciting day when one of my books is finally released into the world to be read. And the publication of ECHOES IN THE DARK is particularly meaniful to me. The year 2024 had its share of ups and downs. My oldest son got married to a wonderful girl we loved welcoming into our family. On the flip side, we moved my 86 year-old father out of the home he had lived in for more than 30 years. His health had declined steadily since my mother's passing five years ago, and in early January of this year, he went to be with her.

In between these momentous events, there was a plethora of other distractions--not the least of which was the death of a beloved pet and the later addition of a rescue puppy to the family. In short, 2024 was very very busy. And either I was too easily distracted or not committed enough to get ECHOES IN THE DARK finished and published last year as I had intended.

But it's out now, and I'm so excited! I've spent some time today going back and re-reading several of my favorite chapters. It took me a long time to write the story, but I think it was worth it. If you read it, I hope you will agree!

As always, I can't thank you enough for your encouragement and support. Mystery readers, despite the nefarious contents of the books they read, are some of the nicest people in the world. I appreciate each one of you!

I just finished Echoes in the Dark and couldn’t put it down. The adventure was gripping, full of unexpected turns that kept me hooked until the very last page. I’m eagerly waiting for the next book in the series—you're writing it, right, Shannon? With storylines like Jack’s license, a teenage detective, and the alternating settings between Dallas and Telluride, there’s so much to look forward to. Jack is becoming more entwined with the citizens of Telluride, slowly shedding his outsider status, which adds another intriguing layer to the story.
